Laws in Love

This weekend was so laid back and easy.  I haven't had one of those in so long I almost didn't know what to do with myself.  I got up early (very early) on Saturday morning and went to my Weight Watchers meeting (down 3 lbs!) then back home to rest and just do NOTHING!  The day was to beautiful to waste in doors so we decided we would take the kids to the creek in Boerne to feed the ducks.  They love that so much and the best part is that it's FREE!!!  Can't do better than that.  So at about 12:30 we headed that way.  Had a scrumptious lunch at Peach Tree on Main St.  it's so good... just imagine your grandmothers home cooking but not having to wash the dishes after you eat :) hahaha  Then to the ducks.  The kids had a great time like they always do. Then it was back to the casa for an afternoon siesta.  I'm telling you LAID BACK!!! I loved it.

Then it was Sunday morning and off to church.  I'm so loving our church right now.  It's great!!! The best part about Sunday morning is getting up and getting ready to go to church! Having an hour with Beau ALONE is a plus! My moms keeps the kids for us.  The knew series at church this month is "Laws in Love"  and it's so empowering.  Yesterday was the first sermon and it was awesome.  It's so great to be there with your husband and learning how to love each other in a new and functional way.  I don't know if that makes sense but that's how we felt when we left.  If I had my notes I would be quoting more but maybe tomorrow.  Until then.... I LOVE YOU BEAU COBB!!!!

Hill Country Chefs

I got a NEW job!!! Well, a part time job that is.

I'm in love with Rachael Ray and I love to cook.  Cooking to me is like therapy, but FREE!!! When I cook I get so excited about it.  Everything that goes into it and the end product.  At my house I make 2 house favorites and 3 experimental recipes.  So I'm always making my family taste something new and yummy (sometimes not so yummy).

ANYWAY.... I say all of that because randomly Beau found a posting on Craigs List (you can find a job on that thing... who knew) for an on air talent for a Hill Country Cooking Show.  Since I have NO head shot or resume (because I don't do that kind of work) I just picked up the phone and called them. I knew I could win them over the phone (I hoped).  They actually talked to me and asked to send over anything that I had  Thanks to one of my very best friends Shelly Miles I had some clips from being on her show San Antonio Living and some clips from here on the blog.  They called me the next day for a screen test and low and behold they liked me and I got the job!!!

The show is of us going into really awesome restaurants in the hill country and talking to the general manager and then into the kitchen with the chef.  I am in HEAVEN!!! It's so DD CObb it's not even funny.  I hope I don't EVER get fired.  I love doing it and the places that I have been so far have been amazing.  So stay tuned for more information.  It is being aired only on a local cable network but after it premiers they are going to put a tab on their website and make a twitter and facebook page for it so everyone can see it.

Here are some pictures of me on location at our first shoot.  We were at The Creek in Boerne

Like Father Like Daughter

I've always wanted the Fab-O Maile (my bff) to take a picture of Ava and Beau like this.  Unfortunately, I can never get my family to do a family photo shoot! So...  I just snapped one myself!  We went up to Fredericksburg a couple of weeks ago and they were walking in front of me and that was my chance. I think it came out pretty cute.  They have the same sense of style .... can you tell?
